Leading Contest Sports & Media’s ambition to be one of the top Endurance Event companies in the UK & Ireland. Rob founded the company in 2013 with one race and 1200 participants – with now 3 races and 25,000 participants in 2015. Race Director of Rock n Roll Marathon Series events in Liverpool and Dublin and the English Half Marathon.Main job is to focus on building relations with cities, tourism bodies, commercial partners, media, charities and our participants. If he’s not flying around the world on business, he can be found at the side of cricket pitch, drinking cider and eating pie.

Whilst Dan has worked on projects as varied as International Music Conferences to public exhibitions of preserved human bodies, he also boasts an inane ability to drink a pint in a world record worthy time – about 1.8 seconds. Working roles previous to Contest Sports prepared Dan for big ideas, meeting new people and global concepts. All of which are key to Dan’s broad spectrum of responsibility across the business. Often a shadow lurking in the background on event day, its Dan’s responsibility to coordinate the teams delivery of a world class event.

Natasha has worked with us in a contractor capacity since 2014 on Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool, and we ar epleased to now welcome her onboard as a fully fledged member of staff.

Excellent interpersonal skills and medal know-how make Tash a firm fixture in many a promotional booth – you may have spotted her at EXPO’s around the world promoting our events!

Bio

Office Angel Shelle has been in customer service for an inordinate amount of time and prides herself in her problem solving abilities. She likes nothing better than a smoothly running office and efficient query handling.

Shelle is a keen runner herself and has the benefit of many years’ experience both behind the scenes at races and being out there earning medals. This ensures that whatever your problem or query, she is guaranteed to understand and look for the best solution.

Bio

A former Project Manager at BAE Systems. Bob has a long history in running, including taking part in 5 Edinburgh Marathons in the 80’s. In 2006 Bob started to work with Interloq Ltd on chip timing of races, and progressed onto course development and race day course management – firstly with Interloq Ltd, and now with Contest Sports.

Bob has worked on as Course Developer and Race Day Course Management on hundreds of races, including:- Edinburgh Half Marathon, Dunfermline Half Marathon, Dundee Half Marathon, Coventry Half Marathon, English Half Marathon and Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon.

Bio

Bill is part of our operations team, where he specialises in logistics and supplies. When he’s not playing Tetris with crates and boxes inside trucks he can be found managing his own running groups where he has been coaching for many years. A UK Athletics Race Official, Bill is also a big supporter of parkrun being one of their Ambassadors.

Bill also has his own race events company and stages races of his own.

Bio

Currently living in Carlisle but originates from the North East of England and has worked in the sport and leisure industry for over 40 years with small breaks for other business ventures.

Main role within Contest Sports is equipment compound, signage and assisting with erection and dismantling of start and finish line venues. Always leading the charge over race weekends, especially at the social gatherings – although isn’t too sure about the team fancy dress nights!

Bio

Ditch joined the team very early on when we needed someone cheap! He decided to stick around and has stuck on our bus as Chief of Design. He has remained loyal, as have we, so it works all round, he’s very round, we can say that because he wrote this.

He’s a keen runner and has completed three of the last three EHM Mile challenges despite not running since he was a little boy. Ditch was born and raised in Warrington and he’s unlikely to ever leave his hometown – which is splendid for us because we would miss his crayon skills.

With 25 years of experience behind the camera, creating content covering a wide range of subjects for regional, national and international broadcasters, we are delighted to welcome Colin to the contest sports team.

When he isn’t capturing the essence of our events, we keep him at HQ coiled in a cupboard, ready to spring into action. If you see him waving a camera around be sure to say hello and you could be the next star of one of our productions!
